BAMBOOZLER

(1977 - PRESENT)

Bamboozler

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Bamboozler is the first ride you encounter once you enter the Orient and if you don't have a good ride operator it might be the last thing you encounter standing still for awhile. This ride was originally added in 1977. It is composed of a large circular disc where riders stand around the edges. It then starts to spin and once it reachs the correct speed, it begins to tilt to an almost 90 degree angle. Natural gravitational forces keep you pushed to the side. The basic premisis for this scientic feat is that when an object spins it creates artificial gravity. This ride usually lasts from 3-5 minutes, this depends on the operator since it is all manually controlled by the operator.

INTERESTING FACTS

When the Bamboozler was added it was named the Singapore Sling and was located about right were the Orient Express Q-line starts, exactly where the small pond is off to the right side. However, when Worlds Of Fun started having grand ideas about adding the Orient Express the then Singapore Sling was moved to Americana in 1980, exactly where the Omegatron is now. It was re-named Whirlgig. In 1986 when the Omegatron was added this ride was again moved, back to the orient this time and named the Bamboozler. It took the position left by the Oriental Octopus after it was moved to the Aerodrome. This explains the second set of stairs on the left of the ride which can no longer be used, but they were used for the loading and unloading of the Oriental Octopus!
