The Timber Wolf is Worlds of Fun's only and very first Wooden Roller Coaster. It breaks down more than the employees like to think about though. However, it is still rated as one of the best in the world and held the title for Best Coaster in the World in 1991!

The Timber Wolf was built in 1989 and in 1991 was named the best wooden roller coaster in the world! It still is considered one of the best by many roller coaster enthusiasts. It has a 540 degree helix which adds to this coasters uniqueness.
The Timberwolf was built on the site of the old Screamroller or Extremeroller and you can still see the old structural foundations of this coaster in the queline and also around the exit of the Timber Wolf. Another interesting fact is that this classic woodie got its name in the "Name the Coaster" contest that Worlds of Fun sponsored
As I sit in the red car of this great coaster, I am jerked back and forth up the slow lift hill. As I reach the top and turn the corner, I look over to my right and stare at the Mamba's monstorous shadow upon me. Then I Look to my left and see the RipCord as well as the rest of WOF. I then look forward and prepare to fall. My mouth opened wide as I scream and I fall toward the ground. I am then thrown up another hill and make a quick U-Turn as the cars are turned horizontally. Down and under the Wolf's lift hill almost hitting my hands on the wooden structure above me. Up and around into the TWolf's 540 degree helix. Great part of the coaster. The car is then quickly taken back and around the same course, except a little lower than before. Up one last hill and down around the foot of the lift hill the train streaks by. Through the Trees and around back into the station with a very sudden stop. My ride on this one of a kind wooden coaster was great. This is a ride that I will never get enough of.
