GENERAL INFORMATION

Monsoon is a giant water ride built by Intamin (Makers of Fury of the Nile). Passengers are seated in a large twenty passenger boat that is lifted up a 50 foot hill and dropped down a giant waterfall at speeds of 35 miles per hour. The people sitting in the front and to the sides of this giant boat are soaked as the boat splashes down into a 425,000 gallon lagoon. This creates a giant Monsoon (Tidal Wave) that hits everyone in the boat as well as the brave ones standing on the bridge above the lagoon. Caution: You will Definitely Get Wet on this Ride!!!

INTERESTING FACTS

Monsoon was added in 1992 to both Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, joining the two parks. The Ride was originally supposed to be just for Worlds of Fun guests when Hunt Midwest decided to let guests from both parks enjoy the wrath of this water ride. The ride was added to celebrate Worlds of Fun's 20th anniversary. Also, after this ride was added, guests to either park could buy a Same Day Getaway Pass. That means that guests can experience both parks in One Day!
