GENERAL INFORMATION

The Octopus is BACK! This time in Scandinavia next to the Finnish Fling. This ride is a very fun ride but sometimes can take a while to load and unload. The ride consists of six arms. As the entire Octopus spins, each arm spins as well as moves upward and downward, all while the entire Octopus is spinning. It sounds worse than it really is. Give it a try, I'm sure you will like it.

INTERESTING FACTS

This ride has been moved and re-named three times. It was originally named the Oriental Octopus and was located where the Bamboozler is now, in The Orient. When the "Wizo the Clown Show" came to the Orient around 1976, the Oriental Octopus was removed. In 1983, the Oriental Octopus was re-named to the Tail Spinner and put in the Aerodrome's vacant spot left by the Barnstormer after its departure. When Pandemonium! opened in 1986, replacing the Aerodrome, the Tail Spinner was re-named The Octopus and was part of Pandemonium!. In 1996 when Pandemonium! was removed, The Octopus was dismantled and put in storage once again. It remained in storage for the 1997 Season. However, it reappeared in 1998 as The Octopus in Scandinavia! Amongst all of the re-naming re-locating that Worlds of Fun has done to The Octopus, the Cars on The Octopus have now been Painted Green. They Used to be a bright Red! Can Worlds of Fun put this ride through any more hastle?
