BARNSTORMER
BIPLANE RIDE

(1978 - 1983)

Aerodrome

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Barnstormer was an original ride to the Aerodrome. It was ten feet tall and consisted of a circular plane ride not too unlike the Flying Dutchman. Except that it was taller, faster and had drops of about ten feet. It was located where the Bearenstein Bear Country Tree House is today.

INTERESTING FACTS

Unfortunatly for many guests, the Barnstormer could not run very often due to the fact that its cars were attached to cables (like the Flying Dutchman) and were damaged by high winds. This was learned the hard way in 1978 when the Barnstormer was involved in an accident. The Hydrolic pump that usually ran the Barnstormer errupted and sent hydrolic fluid almost half-way across the park. One of the planes was damaged in this accident, and with a great deal of irony was placed in front of the ride by the entrance. Nobody was injured or killed in this accident.
