THE RIDES

WORLDS OF FUN RAILROAD

A traditional train ride with an actual steam powered locomotive named "Eli". This is an original ride to the park. It takes riders on a basic tour across most of WOF. This can be a relaxing ride especially at the end of the day. It is nice to ride it at night as well. You can see most of the rides lit up. For more information about the Worlds of Fun Railroad
and "Eli" Click Here.

SCRAMBLER

This ride was moved from Scadinavia and was originally named the Scandi Scrambler. This is a very moderate ride, and stays plane with the ground. It moves in a circular "egg-beater" motion. The Scrambler is a great ride and one of my favorites. For more information on this ride Click Here.

DETONATOR

This is a relativly new ride, added in 1996. It was the first twin version of the "Space Shot" designed by Sports Power Inc. Each tower seats 12 people, with a maximum rider capacity of 24. Riders are shot up 200 feet at speeds of 45 mph. This generates 4.5 G's or 4.5 times the normal earth's gravity. Then after reaching the top they freefall at a negative 1 G. The Detonator is powered by 5,000 horsepower engine which generates the compressed air that runs the it. For more information on the detonator Click Here.

CYCLONE SAM'S

Cyclone Sam's was built in 1995 to replace the Wobble Wheel, and for those familiar with that ride that's basically what this is. This is a high speed circular ride that changes directions rapidly. It is set as if you were inside of a Cyclone. Lightning, Thunder, and Wind are all simulated so it is like you are in a Cyclone. While waiting in line, be aware of the old guy on the television. He is Really annoying! For those rainy days this is the only ride that will stay open during lightning, because it is indoors. (NOTE: This Ride Uses Strobe Lights)

OMEGATRON

Don't miss this ride. It's nestled back there past the Timberwolf. There is a small game outlet and it is located towards the back. This is a great deal like the Sea Dragon, only it goes all the way around, 360 degrees at six stories in the air! This ride has circular motion and goes completly upside down for a matter of seconds (it stays stationary for a few seconds). Just a suggestion, Empty your pockets before you ride this!

RIPCORD

The badest of the bad. The basic principle for this ride is free flight. Passengers are hooked to two steel cables, which are attached to two twin flight towers. They are then pulled up 200 feet face down to the top of the lauch tower. When the passenger pulls the ripcord they free fall down 200 feet and back again in a pendulum motion at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour. The heavier the flyer(s) the faster the ride. Skycoaster Experience built the RipCord. It is basically, a combination of sky diving and bungie jumping. Click Here for more information about this Ride.
