AUGUST 24, 1998: WOW! I have heard rumors all the way up to 2001! Of course they probably won't pan out, remember they are only rumors... However, I have heard that Worlds Of Fun might be getting a turbo drop ride for 2001! Also I have heard that the inverted roller coaster for 2000 might have TWO lift hills! This means that it will have one lift hill at the beginning of the roller coaster and a second near the end.

LOST RIDES

August 19, 1998: Guess what, the Viking Voyager is looking more likely again to be on its last year or so at Worlds Of Fun. I would agree on this rumor since the Voyager was in pretty bad shape when I worked it in 1995. In its place I have heard that they might be putting the B & M inverted coaster in its place. Also on the Chopping Block is the Omegatron and Bounce-A-Roos.

NEW RIDES

THE VEKOMA AIR JUMPER (TIME WARP)

The Vekoma Air Jumper (Time Warp) is said to be replacing the Omegatron. This ride is Very Similar to the Omegatron, the only difference is that it has Seats Like Inverted Coasters Do (Your Feet Dangle in the Air). This would be a more exciting version of the Omegatron! CHAOS

Another Rumor states that a New Ride will Replace the Bounce-A-Roos in Europa. (It's about Time Europa Got a New Ride). This ride is a Chaos Ride. Chaos is a version of Cyclone Sam's Meets Zulu! It would be a great addition to Europa, disrupting the mild theme. For More Information about Chaos check out the Chaos Website.

August 19, 1998: The addition of the Chaos ride looks more likely now due to the fact that Cedar Fair just added one to one of its other parks, Cedar Point. Cedar Fair usually add a a ride at one park then to another.

July 23, 1998: It has recently come to my attention that Worlds Of Fun might also be getting a Huss Top Spin instead of the Chance Chaos ride. However, I think this is not very probable.

OLDER RIDES

ORIENT EXPRESS

It seems Worlds Of Fun MIGHT be coming to their senses. No, the Orient Express is staying right where it is, BUT it is getting new trains and some muchly needed fine tuning! Hopefully this will Cut Down on the Number of headaches riders Get! I would say its about time.

It also SEEMS (notice these are only rumors) that the Detonator might be growing a little, in height that is. However, this is a little farther down the road.

: 2000

THE INVERTED COASTER

It seems its a pretty good bet Worlds Of Fun is getting that Bolliger and Mabliard inverted coaster (similar to the Raptor), though Worlds Of Fun will not be adding this roller coaster until 2000. It will probably be located where the Zambezi Zinger was or where the Viking Voyager now stands. The way I see it, it makes a wonderful way to send us into the 21st century.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS

The Americana gate which has been standing abandoned for the past three years seems its on its last year. It will supposably be torn down at the end of this year. It seems to me that it will be the end of one legacy and hopefully, the beginning of another. In its place instead of getting the rumored drag strip Worlds Of Fun might be putting in a "Challenge Park" (like at Cedar Point and Valley Fair), for more information see below.

Both Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun may be getting a Family Recreation Center. It is said that this Family Fun Center may be like the new "Challenge Park" at Cedar Point. This Family Fun Center will probably be near the Same-Day Gateway or replacing the Americana Gate. This new addition would include two new miniature golf courses, a go-cart track, and an arcade. Well, I have been informed that Oceans Of Fun might have something new in store for it next year. Supposably, they are getting a sort of water roller coaster, which should be interesting. Rumors say that it might be like what Dorney Park Got this year.
